Group Counseling

Group therapy is powerful, both as a stand-alone therapy or in conjunction with individual therapy. At times, group therapy is more powerful than individual therapy. It’s serves as an opportunity to meet with others who share a common struggle while working towards a common goal in hopes of improving their quality of life.  

Groups help us see that we are not alone. Coming to therapy can be difficult. We often come in thinking we are the “only one” or we fear that our therapist will be astounded by our problems.  Being part of a group shows us that we aren’t as alone as we feel and we aren’t as wretched as we think we are.  Group therapy is also an excellent place to give and receive support.
