Meet Gwen – Insightful, Empowering Therapy Rooted in Connection and Clarity
If you’re looking for a therapist who is genuine, attentive, insightful, and just the right mix of wise and witty—Gwen may be a great fit for your journey. She brings a rare blend of presence, emotional intelligence, and lived experience to each session. Known for her compassionate curiosity and calming presence, Gwen creates a space where clients feel both deeply heard and gently challenged as they move toward healing and growth.
Gwen is especially passionate about working with individuals navigating life transitions, relationship struggles, identity shifts, and the unique stressors of military life. With a strong background in education and military-connected communities, she understands the emotional toll of frequent change, invisible load-bearing, and the need to find solid ground within shifting seasons. Whether you feel disconnected from yourself, overwhelmed by expectations, or unsure how to move forward, Gwen helps you reconnect with your voice, your values, and your capacity for joy.
Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, affirming, and centered on meaningful connection. Gwen helps clients identify patterns that keep them stuck, develop insight into their emotional world, and build the skills to move through life with more self-awareness and resilience. “We are hard-wired for meaningful connection and belonging,” Gwen says. “Therapy is a space where we explore our stories, make meaning of our experiences, and learn to grow through mutual vulnerability and empowerment.”
Clients describe Gwen as warm, authentic, and deeply thoughtful—someone who can hold space for both complexity and humor, lightness and depth. With her, therapy becomes not just a place to process but a place to rediscover who you are and what’s possible for your life.
Gwen works with:
Adults navigating identity shifts, burnout, or emotional overwhelm
Military service members, veterans, and families coping with transition or trauma
Individuals seeking deeper connection with themselves or their loved ones
Clients looking for a thoughtful, grounded therapist who honors both vulnerability and humor
Gwen’s journey into therapy began in her role as an educator serving military-connected youth. After witnessing the academic and emotional toll of constant transition, she was drawn to counseling as a deeper way to support healing and connection. As the spouse of a combat veteran and a mother of three, Gwen brings both clinical expertise and personal insight into the realities of service-related stress and the courage it takes to care for others while trying to care for yourself.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Modern Language and Culture from Columbus State University and her Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling—specializing in Military and Veterans Counseling—from the prestigious William & Mary School of Education.
Outside the Therapy Room
When Gwen’s not in session, you’ll likely find her with a book in hand, yarn in her lap, or laughing with her family at the beach—her favorite happy place. She loves to dance (even without rhythm), appreciates dark humor, and believes in the power of shared laughter to lighten even the heaviest moments.
Known as “The Advocate” (INFJ) on the Myers-Briggs and a Type 3 Enneagram with a 1-2-6 tritype (“The Supporter”), Gwen brings depth, drive, and emotional presence to her work. Her clients often note her ability to hold space for both structure and softness, offering a blend of intellectual insight and grounded compassion that creates real momentum for change.
