Biography:
If you're looking for a therapist who is direct and intentional about getting to know you as a person before diving into “the issues”, Shawn may be the counselor for you. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Austin Peay State University. He received his first Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry Leadership from Liberty University. He received his second Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College and Seminary. As an honorably discharged, retired Army Veteran, Shawn is well versed in issues facing Service Members, Veterans, and their families. He chose this profession as it felt like a natural progression given his former experiences and it felt like a calling given his passion for helping others in their greatest time of need. Shawn utilizes humor and wisdom to connect with clients, and appreciates the transformational process that occurs when clients are able to relax, trust the process, and begin meeting their goals. Fun Facts: Shawn enjoys lots of blacksmithing, wood work, writing, reading (a lot), gardening, raising chickens, napping with his dogs, hunting fishing, and camping. He’s also an avid Star Wars fan and he once published a book of poetry. His Myers-Briggs Type is INFJ-A, aka "The Advocate". Not only is the INFJ the rarest Myers-Briggs Type (only about 2% of the population), it is the rarest personality type among men! He comes in as an 8 on the enneagram and his tritype is 8-3-5, also known as “The Solution Master”.
